is alumnus from Mechanical Engineering Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). He has been lecturer at PEDC and now as lecturer at mechanical engineering Polytechnique ITB (POLBAN). Ir. Maridjo has taught many topics related to his expertise to many companies in Indonesia, such as predictive and preventive maintenance, lubrication system, diesel machine, pump, gas turbine, piping and pipeline, compressor, boiler, and many others. TRAINING INSTRUCTOR
Ir.Endra Joelianto, Ph.D. is an expert in control engineering and industrial automation. His outstanding research is: Hybrid Control Systems, Discrete Event Control Systems, Petri Nets Analysis and Application on PLC, Robust and Advanced PID Controller and its implementation on PLC, DCS, Fieldbus, Industrial automation and Advanced Control System Designs. He received first degree (Ir.) in Engineering Physics in 1990 from Department of Engineering Physics, ITB and Doctor of Philosofy (PhD.) in Control Engineering in 2001 from Department of Engineering, The Australian National University, Canberra, Australia.  He is Head of Intelligent Control and Automation Laboratory and Coordinator of PLC Research Group for research and training, Engineering Physics Study Program and Instrumentation and Control Research Division, Institut Teknologi Bandung.

He was Director of Schneider-OMRON PLC Training Center, Maranatha Christian University, Bandung.  He has attended several professional training on PLC, DCS and Instruments Callibration, such as: Yokogawa DCS, Bandung (2000), Implementation of Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 19-17025 and Basic Calibration, Yokogawa Electric Corporation, Bandung (2001), Fieldbus Foundation Technology, Singapore (2002), Basic and Advanced PLC Telemecanique-TWIDO, Bandung (2003), Basic and Advanced PLC OMRON, Jakarta (2004), Cleaner Production Application in Industries (Bandung 2005), Effective Energy Systems for Sustainable Development (Thailand 2006), Programming and Networking PLC Mitsubishi (2006), InTouch Wonderware, Wonderware Historian and Information Server (Bandung, 2012).

He also has hosted Workshop on Industrial Automation (Bandung, 2002) and (Bandung, 2003), Workshop on Application of PLC in Industrial Automation (Bandung, 2003), National Workshop on Instrumentation & Control (2011) and many professional trainings on PLC, DCS, SCADA, Human Machine Interface and Industrial Process Control and Automation in Bandung. He was the project leader of Department of National Education TPSDP Retooling Program Batch II on Industrial Automation using PLC (2004).

He is the chairman of National Student Competition on PLC Programming held regularly since 2007 in ITB. He serves as instructor either for public or for in-house training on instrumentation and process control to universities, industries, petrochemical or oil and gas companies, such as: PT. Kata TIG dari kalimat Las TIG adalah singkatan dari Tungsten Inert Gas, disebut juga GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) atau pengelasan bususr Wolfram pelindung gas, yaitu proses pengelasan busur listrik elektroda tidak terumpan, dengan menggunakan gas mulia sebagai pelindung terhadap pengaruh udara luar atau lebih sering dikenal sebagai pengelasan listrik.

Gas yang digunakan sebagai pelindung adalah gas Helium (He), gas Argon (Ar), gas Karbondioksida (CO2) atau campuran dari gas – gas tersebut. Proses pengerjaan Las TIG pada umumnya menghasilkan lasan yang lebih baik daripada proses pengelasan yang lain. Kelebihannya adalah bisa digunakan untuk mengelas alumunium dan yang paling efektif adalah untuk mengelas logam dengan ketebalan 1/8 inci.

PENDAHULUAN :
Sifat mekanik logam (ferrous) dan paduannya sangat dipengaruhi oleh proses pembuatan (raws material), struktur mikro, dan proses perlakuan lanjutannya.  Sifat mekanik dapat mengalami perubahan bila bahan tersebut diproses dengan perlakuan panas (heat treatment). Secara garis besar heat treatment memiliki tujuan untuk memperbaiki keuletan, menghilangkan tegangan sisa, mengubah ukuran butir, dan meningkatkan kekerasan atau kekuatan tarik. Pengaruh heat treatment ini sangat luas terutama terhadap mampu mesin, mampu bentuk, konduktivitas listrik, sifat magnetik dan ketangguhannya. Untuk mendukung sistem produksi yang memadai diperlukan tenaga kerja yang handal atau peningkatan keahlian tenaga kerja profesi Proses Perlakuan Panas (Heat Treatment).

He was the project leader of Department of National Education TPSDP Retooling Program Batch II on Industrial Automation using PLC (2004).

He is the chairman of National Student Competition on PLC Programming held regularly since 2007 in ITB. INTRODUCTION AND GOAL:
Thermal spraying is a group of processes wherein a feedstock material is heated and propelled as individual particles or droplets onto a surface. The thermal spray gun generates the necessary heat by using combustible gases or an electric arc. As the materials are heated, they are changed to a plastic or molten state and are confined and accelerated by a compressed gas stream to the substrate. The particles strike the substrate, flatten, and form thin platelets (splats) that conform and adhere to the irregularities of the prepared substrate and to each other. As the sprayed particles impinge upon the surface, they cool and build up, splat by splat, into a laminar structure forming the thermal spray coating.

Thermal spray coating is a well-established coating technique comparing with other coating processes. The advantages of thermal spray coating comparing with hard chrome, physical vapour deposition (PVD), chemical vapour deposition (CVD) are:

  1. high deposition rate
  2. low heat input process
  3. proven technology
  4. variety of coating materials
  5. high degree of repeatability
  6. resource of utilization
  7. favorable economics

Thermal spray technology and coatings solve critical problems in demanding environments. They provide “solutions” to problems involving repair, wear, high temperature and aqueous corrosion, and thermal protection. Thermal spray can also be used to manufacture net-shapes, advanced sensors and materials for the biomedical and energy/environmental sectors. These and other emerging applications take advantage of the rapid and cost-effective capabilities of thermal spray technology in the OEM and repair industries.

The thermal spray coating technology has been used in various industry ranges from aerospace to electronic industry and the utilization of this technology is growing fast in the industrial country. The market of thermal spray coating in Indonesia is widely opened, but there still few utilization from the industry and thermal spray workshop due to the limitation of technology and equipment.

DR. Ir. I Made Astina, M.Eng. is currently assistant professor of mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering ITB. He graduated from Mechanical Engineering Department ITB in 1992. Prior to his Ph.D. obtainment in Engineering (thermodynamics, school of science for open and environmental systems) from Keio University Tokyo, Japan in 2004, he received Master of Science in Engineering (mechanical engineering department) from the same university in 1997. His researches concern on thermodynamic, development of new thermal systems, thermodynamic cycles, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. His papers were published in international and national journals, besides he also presents his papers in international and national seminars. Besides teaching at the university, he also has experiences to give short courses for industrial practical engineers and publics and to collaborate practical consultant works.

Dr. Ir. Endra Joelianto is an expert in control engineering. He was the founder and the director of Schneider-OMRON PLC Training Center, Maranatha Christian University, Bandung.  The Schneider-OMRON PLC Training Center has cooperation with PT. Schneider Electric Indonesia, PT. OMRON Corporation Japan, Invensys WONDERWARE. He was the project leader for TPSDP Retooling Program Batch II-DIKNAS for Training Program on “INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION USING PLC” 2004 and Co-provider for the same retooling program Batch II on “INDUSTRIAL CONTROL AND AUTOMATION” by PT. H. MH Sapto Widodo, M.Sc was born in June 9th 1957. He got his education of master of science in electrical engineering, System Design and Technology, Fachhochschule Darmstadt, Germany. He also has followed some courses for improving his competencies in Indonesia and abroad. He is head of electrical department at P4TK BMTI Bandung atau TEDC Bandung(technical education development  center) and he also as lecturer at the department. He has experiences in some consultants. Some training sectors related to his fields are as follows Electrical & Mechatronic, including these related fields: Electrical Appliances, Electrical Instalation, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, and Industrial Automation.
