He has held senior level HR management positions, including Senior Manager HR & Administration, Assistant Vice President HR and General Manager HR.  Untung has gained extensive experience for more than 20 years in all aspects of HR management, including HR planning, organization development, recruitment & selection, training & development, performance manage.

Course Overview
Support staff has a crucial role to play in contributing towards the effectiveness of the department. This Program is designed to provide a basic introduction to the HR function and to show how support staff can help the HR team and the organization achieve business success. The Program gives participants a basic understanding and appreciation of the role and scope of the function and key HR processes and procedures through open discussion and practical work. Participants will develop the knowledge and skills required to enhance their personal contribution and the effectiveness of their HR team.

Target Participants
This 2-day Workshop is designed for administrators and secretarial staff who have recently joined an HR team or for those who wish to improve their contribution to HR team outcomes.

Day One

1. The role and scope of the HR/personnel function

· defining the purpose of HR and personnel management
· exploring the range of HR activities

2. The role of the HR secretary/administrator
· knowing your role and contribution to your department/organization

3. HR information systems
· collecting the appropriate information
· using HR information systems effectively
· understanding the issues of security and protection within a legal context

4. Presenting information in HR
· analyzing HR case studies
· preparing and giving a brief presentation

DAY 2 Facilitator
5. Developing interpersonal communications skills in HR

· developing assertiveness skills
· giving and receiving constructive feedback
· prioritizing for success

6. Identifying different approaches to recruitment and selection
· exploring the key steps in the recruitment and selection process
· planning and administering the recruitment and selection process

7. Learning and development
· understanding the learning cycle
· exploring a systematic approach to learning and development

8. Preparing a personal action plan
· improving the effectiveness of the role of the secretary/administrator within HR
