The increase in cross-border trade and globalization has required tax professionals and tax authorities alike to operate on a multinational level, where knowledge of domestic law is inadequate. This program is specifically designed to expanding participants’ technical capabilities and conceptual of understanding, to become a specialist in a certain tax field. This course offers participants with a comprehensive knowledge on international tax law principles and practices, where the role of tax treaties has become even more important in resolving the issues of juridical double taxation and double non-taxation including planning international tax opportunities. This course will discuss various topics related to international tax, including: tax treatment to business profits, PE, Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties, beneficial ownership, international tax avoidance, and many mores.

Darussalam is the Managing Director of DANNY DARUSSALAM Tax Center and a lecturer at the Magister Program of the Faculty of Social and Political Science at the University of Indonesia, specializing in international taxation and Indonesian domestic taxation. Currently, he is also the Vice President of the Indonesian International Tax Society and the Head of Research and Development of the Indonesian Taxpayers Association. He obtained and LL.M degree in European and International Taxation from the European Tax College both at Tilburg University in the Netherlands and KatholiekeUniversiteit Leuven in Belgium, with a master thesis entitled “Critical Analysis on Indonesian Transfer Pricing Rules: a Proposal for Indonesian Transfer Pricing Guidelines”. In 2009, he successfully completed an advanced transfer pricing course at Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, California, USA. In 2011, he has attended the “Asia Pacific Transfer Pricing Summit 2011” held by IBC Legal Conference in Hong Kong and also a seminar on “European Tax Law” held by Tax Academy of Singapore and the Institute for Austrian and International Tax Law, Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, in Singapore. Darussalam is the author of several books and numerous articles on taxation.
Freddy Karyadi joined ABNR as senior associate in July 2007 and became a Partner on January 2012. He read law at University of Indonesia (1998) and Leiden University, majoring in International Tax Law (2002). He also graduated cum laude in 1997 from the Faculty of Economics of Trisakti University in Jakarta. His special practice areas are capital market, M&A, taxation, banking and corporate finance matters. He is a member of the editorial board of Derivatives and Financial Instrument Journal, International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation, the Netherlands and is the regional correspondence for the Indonesia jurisdiction for Tax Notes International of Virginia, United States. He also contributes articles to International Financial Law Review and a number of national tax magazines, teaches in several universities and is a regular speaker in seminars and trainings.
David Hamzah Damian is the Manager of Tax Compliance and Litigation Services in DANNY DARUSSALAM Tax Center. His expertise is wide ranging across all areas of transfer pricing, customs and all taxes of Indonesian Taxation. He is well known for his research and advocacy skills, in particular for analyzing cases and arguing appeals. He regularly handles cases in Tax Court, and has a strong track record in tax appeal proceedings in transfer pricing, value added tax, corporate income tax, and customs cases, both in written submissions and at hearings. He obtained bachelor degree in Tax Administration from the University of Indonesia, and pursuing master degree at the same university. David Hamzah Damian holds international certification of Principles of International Taxation from the Chartered Institute of Taxation, UK.
Yusuf WangkoNgantungis the Assistant Manager of International Tax Advisory and Corporate Restructuring Services in DANNY DARUSSALAM Tax Center. Currently he advises clients in various areas in transfer pricing and international taxation. Prior to joining DANNY DARUSSALAM Tax Center, he has worked for Horwath de Zeeuw& de Keizer, the Netherlands, where he was involved in international tax planning projects for both inbound and outbound investments, European VAT, and taxation on expatriates. He obtained his bachelor of law (LL.B) degree in Tax Law (fiscal recht) from University of Leiden and pursuing master degree at the same university. Yusuf WangkoNgantung holds Advanced Diploma in International Taxation from the Chartered Institute of Taxation, UK.
Ganda Christian Tobingis the Assistant Manager of Tax Research and Training Services in DANNY DARUSSALAM Tax Center. He was a senior specialist in Tax Compliance and Litigation Services and in charge in reviewing, designing, and controlling of tax compliance and litigation of Multinationals Companies. He obtained bachelor degree in Fiscal Administration from University of Indonesia. Ganda Christian Tobing holds international certification of Principles of International Taxation from the Chartered Institute of Taxation, UK.
