- BSC Implementation in 9 Indonesian’s Companies
Background:
Since first introduced and published in Harvard Business Review in 1992 by Robert Kaplan and David Norton, Balanced Scorecard (BSC) has gained a reputation of a highly effective systems in translating strategy into performance. In Indonesia, BSC was considered as the second most popular management systems adopted by mid-to-large sized Indonesian companies in 2010 and 2011 (Report of Indonesian Study of Strategy and Performance Management). Yet there are as many failed stories of BSC as there are successful cases. Many failures in BSC implementation are caused by misunderstanding of BSC as ONLY a performance scorecarding tool, and a lack of proper change management in the implementation process. This seminar will highlights GML’s research in identifying reasons for BSC failures, and showcase relevant case studies of BSC implementation in Indonesian culture. Beyond just sharing successes, the practicioner speakers will also share their challenges as benchmarking opportunities.
