Why Audit?
OHSAS 18001:2007 is a management tool which can be used by an organization to better affect its occupational health and safety management policies and programmes

It is essential for an organization to understand its performance against its requirements; and whenever possible, to identify opportunities for improvement.  To achieve these objectives, an organization must set out to conduct internal reviews of itself. These are called internal audits. Internal audits are mandated in OHSAS 18001:2007 through the clause 4.5.5.  The intent of this process is to ensure the organizations knowledge of itself and how it is performing to its requirements.  This process is charged to the internal auditor, whether developed from within or hired from outside. Success in the auditing process is characterized by reliance on a number of principles.  These principles make the audit experience an efficient and reliable tool in support of management policies and controls, providing information on which an organization can act to improve its performance.

OBJECTIVE:
On successful completion, delegates will be trained Auditors, competent to audit their own organization:

  • Be able to prepare, plan, conduct internal audits,
  • Be able to report the results whilst identifying efficiencies and opportunities for improvement of the Management Systems.

Interactive learning techniques are used to maximize delegate participation, including workshops designed to broaden the knowledge of system and audit applications. Further, the delegate will be made aware of good current practices and be encouraged to develop constructive audit skills through analysis and self appraisal.

Bambang Pamudji, B.Sc.,SE. has much real experiences, he is former Senior Health and Safety staff at PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja,PUSRI(Urea Fertilizer Manufacturer) Palembang. He was born in Pasuruan East Java, 14 March 1950. He got his B.Sc in Public Health from APK Surabaya in 1971 and was graduated from Economic Management Sriwidjaja University, UNSRI, Palembang in 1996. He has certificates in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) from Depnakertrans RI/Institutions and Universities in Indonesia, institutions and Universities in UK, and National Safety Council. Experienced in setting up Health and Safety Management System documentation and its application. Experienced internal lead auditor SMK3 in PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja, and External lead auditor SMK3 for Indonesian Association Fertilizer Producer. He has been teaching industrial training classes for many classes related to topics of his competencies, HSE. Many participants from many companies in Indonesia have participated in his training classes.

An introductory course outlining the broad principles of Occupational Hygiene as the basis for anticipation, recognition, evaluation and control of hazards that can be encountered in the workplace

  2. To provide a foundation for students who wish to undertake more in-depth study in individual occupational hygiene subjects.

    • Material Safety Data Sheets as sources of hazard information.
  4. Examples of Hazardous Substances/Processes
    Illustration of where common hazardous substance/processes occur  and their effects on the body.

  1. Assessment of Health Risks
    Basic principles of risk assessments, definitions of hazard and risk with brief mention of expert systems and control banding
  2. Measurement of airborne contaminants
    An introduction to the measurement of dusts, gases  and vapours, including physical states of matter, types of sampling and analytical methods
  3. Hygiene Standards and Occupational Exposure Limits
    • Overview of the basic concepts including Occupational Exposure Limits, units of measurement, time-weighting, simple calculations/algebra.
    • Standard setting.
  4. Biological monitoring and Health Surveillance
    An introduction to the role of Biological Monitoring and Health Surveillance.

Day 3:

  1. General Approaches to the Control of Risk to health
    Outline of the main elements within the hierarchy of control.
  2. Ventilation
    Basic principles of General Ventilation and Local Exhaust Ventilation.
  3. Asbestos
    Overview of the hazards associated with asbestos and itscontrol in the workplace.
  4. Biological Hazards
    Overview of the main biological hazards and their effects on humans.

Day 4:

  1. Noise
    • Overview of the physics of sound and units of measurement, basic physiology of the ear and the effects of noise
  2. Vibration
    • Overview of the physics of vibration and its health effects on the whole body and locally.
  3. Thermal Environment
    • Introduction to human responses to the thermal environment and ways to evaluate it.
  4. Lighting and Non Ionizing Radiation
    • Introduction to the electromagnetic spectrum and the various bands of non-ionizing radiation, focusing on visible light.
    • Effects and assessment of lighting in the workplace.
  5. Ionizing Radiation
    • Introduction to health effects of ionizing radiation, exposure assessment and control techniques and the specialist roles of those who deal with it.
  6. Introduction to Ergonomics
    • Introduction to musculoskeletal injuries, ergonomics and the role of the ergonomist.

DESKRIPSI
Kesadaran akan pentingnya pencegahan kebakaran dan penanggulangan dini terhadap bahaya kebakaran, dalam industri menjadi hal yang  sangat mendasar dan diperlukan mengingat potensi bahaya kebakaran di dalam dunia industri sangat besar. Ketersediaan Fire Protection Inspection, Testing & Maintenance yang handal menjadi syarat mutlak terhadap perlindungan personel dan berbagai asset perusahaan baik yang ada dalam pabrik (plant) maupun dalam gedung perkantoran.

Implementasi teknologi khususnya bidang engineering (rekayasa) untuk mendukung Fire Protection  telah banyak memberikan kemajuan yang significant guna memperoleh sistem keamanan dan keselamatan kerja untuk mencegah kebakaran, controlling, investigasi dan monitoring potensi bahaya kebakaran.

Ir. Wahyu Priatna Affandi, M.Si. Is an independent consultant for oil and gas company in Indonesia. His career was begun at VICO Indonesia a major oil and gas producer formerly named Huffco in East Kalimantan from 1982 till 2000. During his career at VICO he exposed to various jobs and responsibilities such as Reservoir Engineering, Production Operation, Crude Oil Lifting Coordination, and HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) matters. One of his remarkable achievements was successfully setting up and implementing EMS ISO 14001 at VICO Indonesia. To enhance his knowledge and expertise, he got many courses participation both in Indonesia or abroad for production operation and especially in environment engineering i.e: Advance EMS and Auditor ISO 14000, Marine Pollution Control and Exercise, Oil Spill Handling, AMDAL Type A & B, Modern Safety Management System, etc.  He is also active as speaker at national and in international environment forums, gives and training to several oil & gas, and petrochemical industries. He graduated from Petroleum Engineering ITB in 1982. Got his Master Degree in Environment Management from Padjajaran University and Twente Enschede of Netherlands, he  also has an international certification as EMS and ISO 14000 Auditor, EARA Course No: 00300, ANSI-RAB No: EMS 608. The impacts of accidents are harm to people, damage to property, loss to process, loss to profit and damage to environment. To prevent a recurrence of the accident, the professional and effective investigation should be conducted. He has certificates in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) from Depnakertrans RI/Institutions and Universities in Indonesia, institutions and Universities in UK, and National Safety Council. Experienced in setting up Health and Safety Management System documentation and its application. Experienced internal lead auditor SMK3 in PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja, and External lead auditor SMK3 for Indonesian Association Fertilizer Producer. He has been teaching industrial training classes for many classes related to topics of his competencies, HSE. Many participants from many companies in Indonesia have participated in his training classes.

LATAR BELAKANG:
Hampir semua bengkel produksi menggunakan perkakas tangan sewaktu bekerja. Diperkirakan 8% kecelakaan industri disebabkan oleh pemakaian perkakas tangan secara tidak benar, baik perkakas manual maupun yang bertenaga listrik. Kecelakaan-kecelakaan terjadi terutama disebabkan oleh penggunaan perkakas yang bukan pada peruntukannya, atau memakai perkakas yang benar tetapi tidak digunakan sebagaimana mestinya, tidak memakai alat pelindung diri, atau tidak mematuhi petunjuk-petunjuk yang seharusnya diikuti. Oleh karena seyogyanya memilih perkakas tangan yang tepat menurut keperluan tugas pekerjaan, menggunakan perkakas tangan untuk pekerjaan yang sesuai dengan spesifikasi termasuk penyelesaian akhir seperti kekuatan, ukuran, atau bentuk, mengikuti semua syarat keselamatan sebelum, selama, dan sesudah penggunaan perkakas, mengenal perkakas yang rusak atau tidak aman diidentifikasi dan diberi tanda untuk diperbaiki menurut prosedur yang ditunjuk sebelum, selama dan setelah penggunaannya, dan enyimpan perkakas tangan dengan aman di tempat yang tepat menurut prosedur operasi standar. Untuk mendukung sistem produksi yang memadai diperlukan tenaga kerja yang handal atau peningkatan keahlian tenaga kerja profesi Hand Tool Utilization.

The objective of a Management of Change (MOC) program is to ensure all changes to a process are properly reviewed and hazards introduced by the change are identified, analyzed, and controlled prior to resuming operation. MOC often seems deceptively simple in concept but can be one of the most difficult elements of Process Safety Management to implement effectively. The course begins with a discussion of the types of changes that could have adverse impacts on process safety, including some that may not be obvious. Examples are provided of how changes, including even very simple ones, have caused accidents. Regulatory requirements for managing change are reviewed, including interpretations and clarifications that have been provided by OSHA since the PSM standard was issued. Management systems for managing changes are described and an example system is provided. This is followed by a presentation on keys to effectively designing and implementing MOC programs including:

OVERVIEW:
The Fundamentals of Occupational  Hygiene course is an introductory training program. It is geared to safety, heath, environmental, and management personnel who have occupational hygiene on the job responsibilities, but who lack of training or experience in occupational hygiene. This course does not replace the education of a qualified occupational hygienist, but it does provide a basic understanding of industrial hygiene terminology, principles, and practices. Practical approaches to the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of common workplace hazards are the focus of the course. Participant will be involved in their own learning experience through interactive, instructional exercises. Combined with information, this activity provide opportunities to apply newly learned concepts to a variety of occupational hygiene program Scenarios. During the training, participants will:

TRAINING INSTRUCTOR
Bambang Pamudji, B.Sc.,SE. has much real experiences, he is former Senior Health and Safety staff at PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja,PUSRI(Urea Fertilizer Manufacturer) Palembang. He was born in Pasuruan East Java, 14 March 1950. He got his B.Sc in Public Health from APK Surabaya in 1971 and was graduated from Economic Management Sriwidjaja University, UNSRI, Palembang in 1996. He has certificates in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) from Depnakertrans RI/Institutions and Universities in Indonesia, institutions and Universities in UK, and National Safety Council. Experienced in setting up Health and Safety Management System documentation and its application. Experienced internal lead auditor SMK3 in PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja, and External lead auditor SMK3 for Indonesian Association Fertilizer Producer. He has been teaching industrial training classes for many classes related to topics of his competencies, HSE. Many participants from many companies in Indonesia have participated in his training classes.
