TRAINING DESCRIPTION:
This course covers broad issues pertaining to the hazard recognition at work sites. OSHA has developed the HAZWOPER program to protect the workers working at hazardous sites and devised extensive regulations to ensure their safety and health. This course, while identifying different types of hazards, also suggests possible precautions and protective measures to reduce or eliminate hazards at the work place.

He has certificates in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) from Depnakertrans RI/Institutions and Universities in Indonesia, institutions and Universities in UK, and National Safety Council. Experienced in setting up Health and Safety Management System documentation and its application. Experienced internal lead auditor SMK3 in PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja, and External lead auditor SMK3 for Indonesian Association Fertilizer Producer. He has been teaching industrial training classes for many classes related to topics of his competencies, HSE. OVERVIEW:
The Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER) applies to five distinct groups of employers and their employees. This includes any employees who are exposed or potentially exposed to hazardous substances — including hazardous waste — and who are engaged in one of the following operations such as :

  • Clean-up operations — required by a governmental body, whether federal, state, local, or other involving hazardous substances — that are conducted at uncontrolled hazardous waste sites;
  • Corrective actions involving clean-up operations at sites
  • Voluntary clean-up operations at sites recognized by federal, state, local, or other governmental body as uncontrolled hazardous waste sites;
  • Operations involving hazardous wastes that are conducted at treatment, storage, and disposal facilities regulation
  • Emergency response operations for releases of, or substantial threats of releases of, hazardous substances regardless of the location of the hazard.

This course covers broad issues pertaining to the hazard recognition at work sites. OSHA has developed the HAZWOPER program to protect the workers working at hazardous sites and devised extensive regulations to ensure their safety and health. This course, while identifying different types of hazards, also suggests possible precautions and protective measures to reduce or eliminate hazards at the work place. HAZWOPER 40 Hour is required for employees working on a project consisting of Uncontrolled Hazardous Waste Operation mandated by the Government. This course is specifically designed for workers who are involved in clean-up operations, voluntary clean-up operations, emergency response operations, and storage, disposal, or treatment of hazardous substances or uncontrolled hazardous waste sites. Topics include protection against hazardous chemicals, elimination of hazardous chemicals, safety of workers and the environment and OSHA regulations. This course covers topics included in 29 CFR 1910.120. Note: Workers must have 40 hrs of initial training before they may enter the site and at least three days of actual field experience under a trained, seasoned supervisor. **The online course meets the standard requirement of 40 hrs of initial training. The three days field experience under a trained, experienced supervisor is the responsibility of the student employer or potential employer.

  2. Use Site Characterization to establish problems that may exist in your workplace and measures that can be implemented to eliminate hazards

  4. Encourage the use of Material Safety Data sheets (MSDS) to identify and properly handle hazardous materials
  5. Familiarize yourself with materials, compounds and mixtures that may present flammable, explosive, chemical or radiological hazards
  6. Emphasize the importance of personal protective equipment in limiting hazardous exposure
  7. Establish an effective Site Control Program to limit the risk of exposure to only those working in the hazardous work zone
  8. Implement procedures for treating workers in the event of hazardous exposure

A series of 12 training programs that explain how to establish safety procedures that conform to OSHA regulations.

TRAINING MATERIAL OUTLINE:
Day 1

  • Orientation to Laboratory Safety
    Eye protection, fire evacuation protocol, lab coats, the Chemical Hygiene Plan, MSDS’s and more – employees can feel overwhelmed with laboratory safety considerations. This program covers the most important safety issues that both new employees and “seasoned veterans” face in the laboratory.
  • Safety Showers And Eyewashes
    Knowing proper procedures can prevent serious injury, or even save a life. Correct use of both eyewash stations and safety showers are covered in this program.
  • Flammables And Explosives
    Flammables and explosives are some of the most dangerous materials used in a laboratory. This program reviews proper handling procedures as well as the personal protective equipment that should be used when working with flammables and explosives.
  • The OSHA Formaldehyde Standard
    Formaldehyde is used in many laboratory operations. This program covers training required by the OSHA Formaldehyde Standard including safe work practices, personal protective equipment, spill/clean-up procedures, medical surveillance programs and more.

Day 2

  • Electrical Safety In The Laboratory
    To work safely with electrically powered equipment, employees need to know how electricity works and the dangers it holds. Principles of electrical energy, fuses, short circuits, “Lock-Out/Tag-Out”, instrument repair and more are covered in this program.
  • Laboratory Ergonomics
    Many activities in the laboratory can exert stress and strain on muscles and joints…ultimately causing significant injuries. Ergonomic considerations such as working at a bench or hood, using a computer terminal, positioning compressed gas cylinders and safe lifting techniques are all addressed in this program.
  • Material Safety Data Sheets
    All potentially hazardous materials entering a laboratory have MSDS’s. But to make good use of this information employees need to understand the MSDS and what is in it. This program reviews the various sections of the MSDS, what information can be found in each section and most importantly, how this information can help employees as they go about their work.
  • Laboratory Hoods
    When working with hazardous materials, laboratory and biohazard hoods can protect the experiment, the facility and, most importantly, the employee. This program discusses when and why these hoods are used, as well as how to operate and maintain them for maximum effectiveness.

Day 3

  • Preventing Contamination
    Today, one of the major concerns in all laboratories is controlling contamination. This program shows how contamination occurs and reviews the steps that can be taken to prevent its spread.
  • Safe Handling Of Laboratory Glassware
    Broken glassware is probably the major cause of laboratory accidents. Types of glassware used in the laboratory, configuring glassware systems, making proper connections, handling techniques and cleaning/decontamination are all covered in this program.
  • Planning For Laboratory Emergencies
    A caustic acid hose has just erupted…an experiment has produced unexpected, violent reactions…what should employees do to deal with these and other emergency situations? This program covers when and how employees should act in an emergency to prevent injury, property damage or even loss of life.
  • Handling Compressed Gas Cylinders
    The energy possessed by a compressed gas cylinder can make it a virtual “missile”, if not handled carefully. Positioning cylinders properly, storage “incompatibilities”, fittings/connections and more are covered in this program.

He was born in Pasuruan East Java, 14 March 1950. He got his B.Sc in Public Health from APK Surabaya in 1971 and was graduated from Economic Management Sriwidjaja University, UNSRI, Palembang in 1996. He has certificates in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) from Depnakertrans RI/Institutions and Universities in Indonesia, institutions and Universities in UK, and National Safety Council. Experienced in setting up Health and Safety Management System documentation and its application. Experienced internal lead auditor SMK3 in PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja, and External lead auditor SMK3 for Indonesian Association Fertilizer Producer. He has been teaching industrial training classes for many classes related to topics of his competencies, HSE. Many participants from many companies in Indonesia have participated in his training classes.

DESKRIPSI
Pengertian dari alat berat adalah segala macam peralatan/pesawat mekanis termasuk attachment & implementnya baik yang bergerak dengan tenaga sendiri (self propelled) atau ditarik (towed-type) maupun yang diam ditempat (stationer) dan mempunyai daya lebih dari satu kilo-watt, yang dipakai untuk melaksanakan pekerjaan-pekerjaan kontruksi pertambangan, industri umum, pertanian/kehutanan dan/atau bidang-bidang pekerjaan lainnya, sepanjang tidak merupakan alat processing langsung.

Perusahaan tertentu biasanya banyak mempergunakan alat berat dalam proses produksinya untuk memaksimalkan proses operasi produksi. Hal tersebut secara tidak langsung memerlukan pengetahuan mendalam terkait dengan alat-alat berat yang digunakan di lapangan. Perkembangan teknologi yang kian berkembang juga mengharuskan perusahaan untuk senantiasa mengupdate informasi sehingga perusahaan dapat mengambil manfaat dengan proses kerja yang lebih efesien. Undang–undang tersebut mengamanatkan tanggung jawab yang besar bagi pemerintah (Pusat, Provinsi, Kabupaten dan Kota) maupun perusahaan. UU 32 Tahun 2009 sebagai pengganti UU 23 Tahun 1997 tersebut mengatur secara sistematis mengenai pengelolaan lingkungan mulai dari perencanaan, instrumen pengendalian, hingga sanksi. Terdapat penguatan dan penegasan aturan seperti AMDAL, fungsi PPLH-PPNS dan mekanisme penegakan hukum. Beberapa terobosan baru muncul dalam UU tersebut misalnya, mengenai izin lingkungan bagi perusahaan, penetapan inventarisasi serta perencanaan pengelolaan lingkungan bagi pemerintah, hingga sanksi untuk pejabat pemerintah. Tanpa pemahaman yang memadai tentang hak dan kewajiban yang diatur dalam peraturan perundangan tersebut, sulit bagi perusahaan dan pemerintah (Pusat, Provinsi, Kabupaten dan Kota) untuk menerapkan dan menegakkan hukum tersebut, sehingga mudah terkena permasalahan pertanggung-jawaban lingkungan (environmental liability). Dengan memiliki sumber daya manusia di perusahaan dan pemerintah (Pusat, Provinsi, Kabupaten dan Kota) yang memahami peraturan lingkungan akan memberikan banyak manfaat, diantaranya mempermudah dalam:

  1. Menjalankan hak dan kewajiban
  2. Melakukan penegakan hukum lingkungan
  3. Mempertajam pemahaman sehingga mampu memberikan umpan balik yang berkaitan dengan perundangan.
  4. Mengidentifikasi dan mengusulkan Perda lingkungan yang relevan untuk daerah
  5. Mengelola stakeholder (pelaku usaha, dinas daerah, masyarakat sekitar, LSM, investor, dll)

Semua sistem dan program lingkungan seperti ISO 14001, RSPO, AMDAL, UKL-UPL, audit lingkungan dan PROPER memerlukan pemahaman yang baik mengenai peraturan perundangan lingkungan ini

  1. Produksi bersih dan Pengelolaan Limbah B3 off site.
    • Pengangkutan dan pengumpulan Limbah B3

  2. Panduan Inspeksi dan audit Lingkungan untuk B3 dan Limbah B3

HARI 3 :

  1. Kunjungan Lapangan di perusahaan pengelolaan Limbah B3
    • Melihat pengelolaan bahan B3 dan limbah B3.
    • Audit lingkungan B3 dan Limbah B3

He was born in Pasuruan East Java, 14 March 1950. He got his B.Sc in Public Health from APK Surabaya in 1971 and was graduated from Economic Management Sriwidjaja University, UNSRI, Palembang in 1996. He has certificates in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) from Depnakertrans RI/Institutions and Universities in Indonesia, institutions and Universities in UK, and National Safety Council. Experienced in setting up Health and Safety Management System documentation and its application. Experienced internal lead auditor SMK3 in PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja, and External lead auditor SMK3 for Indonesian Association Fertilizer Producer. He has been teaching industrial training classes for many classes related to topics of his competencies, HSE. Many participants from many companies in Indonesia have participated in his training classes.

OBJECTIVES TRAINING:
Setelah mengikuti kursus ini peserta dapat memahami:

  • Memahami semua peraturan lingkungan yang berkaitan dengan penanganan limbah
  • Memahami dalam mengidentifikasi karakteristik limbah, penanganan limbah dalam hal kemasan limbah, penyimpanan sementara, mengurangi, menggunakan kembali, daur ulang dan pemulihan limbah dan yang tak kalah pentingnya  dalam hal pengolahan limbah dan kontaminasi dan pemulihan tanah.
  • Memahami sistem simbol, izin dan laporan, dan aspek keselamatan yang berhubungan dengan penanganan limbah

Hari 1:

  1. Peraturan Lingkungan yang berkaitan dengan penanganan limbah
  2. Identifikasi dan karakteristik limbah
    • Berbahaya limbah
    • Limbah berbahaya non
  3. Penyimpanan sementara limbah berbahaya
    • Spesifikasi kemasan limbah,
    • Sistem Tangki
    • Sistem pergudangan
  4. Memahami penanganan, penyimpanan, penggunaan dan pengangkutan Limbah B3 termasuk dengan plastik dan drum logam.

Hari 2:

  1. 4R (mengurangi,  menggunakan kembali, daur ulang dan pemulihan)  limbah
  2. Perlakuan terhadap limbah
    • Incinerator
    • Solidifikasi dan encapsulisasi
    • Perlakuan terhadap tanah
  3. Pembuangan limbah
    Penimbunan tanah dengan aman

Hari 3:

  • Pencemaran dan pemulihan tanah
  • Symbol and label
  • Perijinan dan pelaporan
  • Aspek keselamatan
