INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVE :
This course teaches the skills necessary to optimize the operation, analysis and trouble shooting of rod pumping systems. It covers rod-pumping equipments (SRP).

Electrical safety is an important issue for those working on electrical facilities in utility networks and large industrial installations. A number of serious accidents including fatalities occur every year due to accidents involving electricity resulting in huge financial losses and wasted man-hours. Arc flashes in electrical equipment are now considered one of the major causes of electrical accidents even surpassing the well-known hazards of electric shock. Avoiding arc flash incidents and the resulting injuries is one of major challenges today facing electrical workers and requires adequate attention in the stages of system planning, design, installation, operation and maintenance.

Injuries due to arc flash can depend on many factors, one of which is the incident thermal energy on a worker exposed to a flash. Today, a considerable body of knowledge exists as a result of research efforts and is available to designers and maintenance engineers in the form of standards such as IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E. This course will detail the basis of this approach and also about the major advances that have been made in the area of PPE made of FR fabrics and rated for different levels of thermal exposure.

Prevention however still remains the best form of protection and switchgear manufacturers have made considerable design advances to ensure that the effect of arc flash incidents is contained within the enclosure of switchgear (often called arc flash resistant switchgear) and methods of testing such switchgear have also evolved simultaneously. Another important factor is the approach to avoid arc incidents within the switchgear by proper design and maintenance and techniques to reduce the severity of the flash should such incidents occur.

These would form the key focus areas of this course.

TRAINING OBJECTIVE :

  • To identify the important hazards in (Other Manufacturer) O&M work in different parts of electrical installations
  • To identify the dangers of arc flash events to working personnel and their impact on equipment
  • The codes and standards related to dealing with arc flash danger
  • The necessary theoretical knowledge to carry out arc flash impact studies by collecting system data and computing the arc flash incident energy and flash protection boundary
  • To understand the importance of proper design of electrical equipment in avoiding arc flash incidents and ensuring safety in the event of an arc flash
  • To select appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Flame Resistant (FR) clothing required for avoiding serious or lethal injuries

TRAINING INTRODUCTION :
Misalignment and unbalance are two major causes of vibration in rotating equipment, vibration that means increased maintenance and reduced machine life. With proper alignment and balancing programs, reductions in maintenance and operating costs can easily reach into six figures per year. When shafts are misaligned, forces are generated that can produce stresses on the rotating and stationary components. Even when couplings do not fail from the stresses produced by gross misalignment, bearings and seals will most certainly fail under these conditions. In extreme cases of misalignment, even the shafts may fracture and break. Out-of-balance machine components are a principal cause of machinery vibration. The condition often is caused by less-than-perfect manufacturing, and it is routine for rotating equipment, reciprocating machines and vehicles. Mass balancing may be necessary if an operation or product requires quiet operation, high speeds, long bearing life, operator comfort, controls free of malfunctioning or a quality feel. There are three types of balancing machines: static balancing stands, hard bearing machines, and soft bearing machines. Static balancing stands do not require spinning up and can correct for static or single-plane unbalance only. They feature low cost and safe operation.

TRAINING INTRODUCTION:
The training is arranged for the process or control engineer who is familiar with traditional control but has little or no experience in designing, installing, commissioning and maintaining advanced control applications. Each session is provided to allow the participants to quickly understand the technology and how it is applied. Application examples are used to show the requirements for addressing an application. Also, a section of each session is dedicated to a more in-depth discussion of the technology for readers who are interested in understanding the mathematical basis for the technology. The training provides comprehensive coverage of the major advanced control techniques that are most commonly used in the process industry. This includes tools for monitoring control system performance, on-demand and adaptive tuning techniques, model predictive control, LP optimization, data analytics for batch and continuous processes, fuzzy logic control, neural networks and advancements in PID for use with wireless measurements. Since many engineers may work with an existing DCS that does not support advanced control, a session of the training is dedicated to tools and techniques that useful in integrating advanced control tools into an existing control system. Also, one session addresses how dynamic process simulations may be easily created in a DCS to support checkout and operator training on the use of advanced control.

Dr. Ade Haryanto, Ph.D. received the B.S. in Engineering Physics and M.S. degree in Instrumentation and Control from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in 2003 and 2006, respectively, and Doctor Degree (Dr.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Intelligent Control and Automation in 2010 and 2013, respectively, from School of Mechanical Engineering, Pusan National University, Busan, South Korea. His research focus is including modeling, identification, dynamics system, instrumentation and control of the power plant and its implementation using distributed control system. PENDAHULUAN :
Korosi secara ekonomi sangat merugikan sehingga korosi dipandang menjadi masalah serius  bagi kontruksi. Dibidang korosi persolaan yang muncul adalah bagaimana menganalisis, mencegah dan mengontrol korosi agar secara ekonomi tidak merugikan. Korosi adalah kerusakan material suatu produk atau komponen mesin dan peralatan yang disebabkan oleh reaksi kimia atau elektro kimia dengan lingkungannya. Lingkungan yang basah atau lembab seperti tercelup dengan air, tetesan embun di atas baja atau besi mempermudah terjadinya korosi. Begitu juga terjadinya reaksi kimia yang melibatkan perpindahan elektron (reaksi oksidasi dan reduksi).

Oleh karena perlu dilakukan pengurangan yang bersifat pencegahan terhadap timbulnya korosi. Korosi dapat menyerang logam atau material bukan logam dengan sangat cepat atau lambat. Dalam kondisi demikian hal yang penting adalah bagaimana menghambat, mencegah terjadinya korosi tersebut.  Oleh karena itu hal yang terpenting bagi parencana industri adalah bagaimana meminimasi biaya maintenance, efek pencemaran lingkungan yang terjadi, kontaminasi produk, dan pengaruh terhadap keamanan dan kelayakan lingkungan. Untuk mendukung sistem produksi yang memadai diperlukan tenaga kerja yang handal atau peningkatan keahlian tenaga kerja profesi Coating System and Protection of Corrosion.

PENDAHULUAN
Korosi adalah kerusakan atau degradasi logam akibat reaksi dengan lingkungan yang korosif. Korosi dapat juga diartikan sebagai serangan yang merusak logam karena logam bereaksi secara kimia atau elektrokimia dengan lingkungan. Korosi dapat juga kebalikan dari proses ekstraksi logam dari material. Contohnya, logam besi di alam bebas dalam bentuk senyawa besi oksida atau besi sulfida, setelah diekstraksi dan diolah, akan dihasilkan besi yang digunakan untuk pembuatan baja atau baja paduan. Selama pemakaian, baja tersebut akan bereaksi dengan lingkungan yang menyebabkan korosi (kembali menjadi senyawa besi oksida). Oleh karena perlu dilakukan pengurangan yang bersifat pencegahan terhadap timbulnya korosi. Korosi tidak hanya terjadi pada logam tapi juga terjadi pada material yang bukan logam dengan sangat cepat atau lambat. Dalam kondisi demikian hal yang penting adalah bagaimana menghambat, mencegah terjadinya korosi tersebut. Korosi secara ekonomi sangat merugikan sehingga korosi dipandang menjadi masalah serius pada kontruksi mesin dan peralatan. Dibidang korosi permasalahan yang muncul adalah bagaimana menganalisis, mencegah dan mengontrol serta menginspeksi korosi agar secara ekonomi tidak merugikan . Untuk mendukung sistem produksi yang memadai diperlukan tenaga kerja yang handal atau peningkatan keahlian tenaga kerja profesi Inspeksi dan Korosi.

  3. Konsep dasar korosi: pengertian korosi, klasifikasi korosi, lingkungan, kerusakan akibat korosi.
  4. Prinsip dasar korosi: aspek elektokimia, pengaruh lingkungan, aspek metalurgi dan lainnya
  5. Laju dan bentuk korosi: uniform corrosion atau general corrosion, galvanic atau two-metal corrsion, crevice corrosion, pitting corrosion, Intergranular corrosion, selective leaching atau parting, erosion, stress corrosion.
  6. Pemeriksaan (pengujian) korosi: pemilihan material (logam dan paduannya, non logam), pengubahan lingkungan (modifikasi elektrolit, inhibitor, tanah sebagai lingkungan)
  7. Pengendalian (pencegahan) korosi: pemberian lapisan (lapisan cat, lapisan plastik, lapisan beton, lapisan logam), proteksi anodik, proteksi katodik (metoda anoda tumbal, metoda arus terpasang).
