TRAINING  OBJECTIVES:
The function of a pressure safety valve is to protect pressure vessels, piping systems, exchanger, boiler and other equipment from pressures exceeding their design pressure by more that a fixed predetermined amount. The permissible amount of overpressure is covered by various codes and is a function of the type of equipment and the conditions causing the overpressure. Failure of safety valve can cause cathastropic accident. Periodically inspection, testing and repair is one of the most important element that the safety valve work properly.This course explains how safety valve and relief functions and how to maintains and ensure long life operation.

DR. Ir. I Made Astina, M.Eng. and Team
DR. Ir. I Made Astina, M.Eng. is currently assistant professor of mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering ITB. He graduated from Mechanical Engineering Department ITB in 1992. Prior to his Ph.D. obtainment in Engineering (thermodynamics, school of science for open and environmental systems) from Keio University Tokyo, Japan in 2004, he received Master of Science in Engineering (mechanical engineering department) from the same university in 1997. His researches concern on thermodynamic, development of new thermal systems, thermodynamic cycles, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. His papers were published in international and national journals, besides he also presents his papers in international and national seminars. Besides teaching at the university, he also has experiences to give short courses for industrial practical engineers and publics and to collaborate practical consultant works.

TRAINING INSTRUCTOR
Ir. Endra Joelianto, Ph.D. is an expert in control engineering and industrial automation. His outstanding research is: Hybrid Control Systems, Discrete Event Control Systems, Petri Nets Analysis and Application on PLC, Robust and Advanced PID Controller and its implementation on PLC, DCS, Fieldbus, Industrial automation and Advanced Control System Designs. He received first degree (Ir.) in Engineering Physics in 1990 from Department of Engineering Physics, ITB and Doctor of Philosofy (PhD.) in Control Engineering in 2001 from Department of Engineering, The Australian National University, Canberra, Australia.  He is Head of Intelligent Control and Automation Laboratory and Coordinator of PLC Research Group for research and training, Engineering Physics Study Program and Instrumentation and Control Research Division, Institut Teknologi Bandung.

He was Director of Schneider-OMRON PLC Training Center, Maranatha Christian University, Bandung.  He has attended several professional training on PLC, DCS and Instruments Callibration, such as: Yokogawa DCS, Bandung (2000), Implementation of Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 19-17025 and Basic Calibration, Yokogawa Electric Corporation, Bandung (2001), Fieldbus Foundation Technology, Singapore (2002), Basic and Advanced PLC Telemecanique-TWIDO, Bandung (2003), Basic and Advanced PLC OMRON, Jakarta (2004), Cleaner Production Application in Industries (Bandung 2005), Effective Energy Systems for Sustainable Development (Thailand 2006), Programming and Networking PLC Mitsubishi (2006), InTouch Wonderware, Wonderware Historian and Information Server (Bandung, 2012). He also has hosted Workshop on Industrial Automation (Bandung, 2002) and (Bandung, 2003), Workshop on Application of PLC in Industrial Automation (Bandung, 2003), National Workshop on Instrumentation & Control (2011) and many professional trainings on PLC, DCS, SCADA, Human Machine Interface and Industrial Process Control and Automation in Bandung.

He was the project leader of Department of National Education TPSDP Retooling Program Batch II on Industrial Automation using PLC (2004). He is the chairman of National Student Competition on PLC Programming held regularly since 2007 in ITB. OVERVIEW:
Hydrocarbon processing industry is categorized as a high risk industry due to the hazards containing either in the material processed or the operations used in its facilities. Because of its vulnerability, a simple event, either man-made or natural one may lead to significant disasters. Flixborough, Bhopal, Piper Alpha disasters are classic examples of major accident causing serious loss of life and/or property. A deep understanding on safety related aspects of the materials and processes or operations implemented in hydrocarbon facilities is therefore critical to operate this kind of industry in safe manner and preventing it to go wrong. The course provides a thorough understanding of the HAZOP techniques and experience of their application. Legislation and best practice require companies to proactively manage health and safety of employees and public. The HAZOP Technique is a widely used method of identifying hazards and operability problems, providing the foundation for the risk assessment process. HAZOP can reduce pre and post start-up modifications and improve productivity and product quality. On course, the lectures are underpinned by syndicate exercises.

Water treating and chemicals are everyday encountered work and problems must be accomplished in industry. TRAINING INTRODUCTION:
This training will be presented for the senior operator or junior supervisor or engineer  or those who handle of electrical power generating in industries or mining. It is known that the electrical energy required by industries supplied from outside by PLN in Indonesia. But the electric energy industry required for 24 hours a day is not guaranteed to be supplied by PLN. Therefore, every industry is requiring a backup generator, called the stand-by generator. Where there are some industries or mines have themselves generators to produce electrical energy to be consumed by themselves. So the condition of the performance of the power generator must be analyzed and how the operation of the generator is properly and efficiently to serve the production process. During the training, presentation of the materials will be presented in a comprehensive manner, through the method of presentation of these things easily lead to a more complex, and practically based to a critical analysis.

TRAINING INSTRUCTOR
DR. Ir. I Made Astina, M.Eng. is currently assistant professor of mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering ITB. He graduated from Mechanical Engineering Department ITB in 1992. Prior to his Ph.D. obtainment in Engineering (thermodynamics, school of science for open and environmental systems) from Keio University Tokyo, Japan in 2004, he received Master of Science in Engineering (mechanical engineering department) from the same university in 1997. His researches concern on thermodynamic, development of new thermal systems, thermodynamic cycles, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. His papers were published in international and national journals, besides he also presents his papers in international and national seminars. Hasan Surya is lecturer at electrical engineering Polytechnique ITB (POLBAN)  and he is a head of department at electrical engineering. Ir. Hasan Surya have delivered some training topics related to his major expertise for  many companies in Indonesia. Ir. Hasan Surya have been researching in electrical engineering and becoming speaker for some conference. Ir. Hasan Surya has also worked for some companies or institution so he has got much real experiences  and now he is ready to share his knowledge and experiences to industrial world throught training class.
