LATAR BELAKANG :
GMAW merupakan penyambungan dua logam yang sama dalam komposisi kimianya maupun sifat mekaniknya menjadi satu dengan menggunakan elektroda yang terbuat dari logam yang pada umumnya terbuat sama dengan logam dasarnya (base metaI) dan dilindungi oleh gas pelindung. Proses pengelasan GMAW termasuk proses pengelasan semi-otomatis yang dapat dilakukan terus menerus (continous process) tanpa berhenti hingga elektroda yang tersedia habis. Proses pengelasan GMAW merupakan bagian dari proses pengelasan dengan gas pelindung (Shielded Gas Welding). Proses pengelasan GMAW dibagi atas jenis gas pelindungnya menjadi dua proses pengelasan, yaitu : Proses pengelasan MIG (Metal Inert Gas) dan proses pengelasan MAG (Metal Active Gas).

LATAR BELAKANG:
Salah satu dari suatu kegiatan untuk meningkatkan atau menciptakan nilai suatu benda dengan masukan berupa faktor-faktor produksi, sehingga menjadi suatu produk sebagai keluarannya adalah teknologi proses pengelasan logam yang dilakukan dengan cara penyambungan batang-batang pada konstruksi bangunan baja dan konstruksi mesin. Lingkup penggunaannya dalam konstruksi sangat luas meliputi perkapalan, jembatan, rangka baja, bejana tekan, pipa, kendaraan rel, dan sebagainya. Teknologi proses pengelasan logam dapat juga untuk reparasi, misal untuk mengisi lubang-lubang pada hasil pengecoran, mempertebal bagian-bagian yang sudah aus. Yang paling banyak digunakan pada bengkel produksi adalah jenis pengelasan busur listrik. Untuk mendukung sistem produksi yang memadai diperlukan tenaga kerja yang handal atau peningkatan keahlian tenaga kerja profesi Proses Pengelasan Logam (Welding).

SASARAN PESERTA:
Para praktisi tingkat operator, tingkat penyelia atau perencana bidang pengelasan logam jenis pengelasan oksi-asetilen dan listrik pada industri rekayasa.

TRAINING OBJECTIVE :
Pelatihan ini dimaksudkan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang instrumentasi dan sistem pengendalian (control system) dalam suatu industri. Pembahasan mengenai instrumentasi akan dilakukan secara menyeluruh sesuai unit atau elemen dari suatu sistem penngendalian, dari unit pengukuran, transmitter, transducer, hingga unit kendali akhir (final control element atau control valve). Sedangkan pembahasan control system akan dimulai dari konsep control system, elemen-elemen, hingga control system yang digunakan secara industrial seperti DCS (distributed control system).

Sistem pengendalian untuk menjamin keselamatan kerja (safety) juga akan dibahas dalam pelatihan ini. PENDAHULUAN:
Banyaknya kecelakaan yang terjadi, baik kecelakan kerja maupun kecelakaan transportasi, Human error seringkali dinyatakan sebagai faktor utama penyebab terjadinya kecelakaan tersebut. Bagi masyarakat awam, berita-berita tentang kecelakaan kerja/ transportasi dengan human error sebagai penyebabnya sering diartikan sebagai kesalahan manusia operator sistem (atau supir, masinis, pilot, dsb). Persepsi ini sebenarnya kurang tepat, mengingat banyak faktor dan aspek lain yang dapat secara langsung maupun tidak mendorong seorang operator melakukan tindakan yang tidak tepat. Pentingnya pemahaman dan kajian yang mendalam atas human error di bidang transportasi dapat dipahami bila menilik besarnya kontribusi human error atas berbagai kejadian kecelakaan.  Park (1997) Di dunia militer, 40 – 60% aspek manusia berkontribusi pada kesalahan sistem persenjataan dan pelayaran.  Angka ini sekitar 60% untuk penerbangan militer. Di dunia penerbangan pada umumnya, misalnya, sebuah estimasi (Shappell dan Wiegmann, 1999) menyebutkan bahwa sekitar 70 – 80% penyebab kecelakaan adalah human error.  Untuk sistem-sistem pada umumnya, 20 – 80% kegagalan terkait dengan human error.  Sisanya adalah karena keausan peralatan/ mesin, aspek lingkungan, dll.  Jumlah  kecelakaan yang cenderung tinggi dan besarnya dampak yang ditimbulkan menyebabkan perlunya pemahaman tentang sumber terjadinya kecelakaan kerja/ transportasi, terutama yang berkaitan dengan aspek human error.

TUJUAN:

  • Analisis dari investigasi diharapkan mengarah kepada sumber kecelakaan yang lebih akurat,
  • Dapat menetapkan strategi intervensi yang tepat dalam usaha meminimasi terjadinya kecelakaan atau meminimasi dampak yang terjadi akibat kecelakaan.

BACKGROUND:
This course will cover the main causes of corrosion in upstream oil and gas operations, as well as monitoring and mitigation methods. The various corrosion mechanisms give rise to a number of different forms of corrosion damage which will all be considered. Participants will estimate the corrosivity of a given environment through analysis of the chemical and physical characteristics of the system. You will review approaches to selecting materials and coatings for corrosion resistance for different conditions and applications, including the use of NACE. You will be introduced to CP surveys, selecting the CP system type, estimating current requirements and the design principles of simple cathodic protection systems. There will be opportunity to select and utilize corrosion inhibitors for different systems and you will learn how to select and apply corrosion monitoring techniques to create an integrated monitoring program. The course content is based on a field facilities engineering point of view as opposed to a more narrowly specialized corrosion engineering or chemistry viewpoint. This course provides an appropriate balance of necessary theory and practical applications to solve/mitigate corrosion related problems.

He achieved his doctorate degree in Department of Mechanical Engineering, Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia (ITB) in 2012. He is also experienced as consultant and training instructure for several manufacturing and oil company, such as Chevron, Total, KPA, Petrokimia, Semen, Indonesia Power, etc. His background in mechanical equipment and machinery is completed with knowledge in instrumentation technology which was started from his final project in undergraduate by making software and data acquisition for predictive maintenance, and continued with his graduate thesis in control system for nano technology. There are researches and industrial implementation in data acquisition such as building the DNC system for production-shop using CNC machine, developing the balancing machine for Panasia Indosyntex – Bandung, SCADA system Development based on Fuji Electric control system (for IPAL – Pertamina – Cilacap, Toxic Gas Monitoring – Dieng – Central Java, etc). Moreover, he is also an official trainer of softwares for design and manufacturing base on CAD/CAM Technology (AutoCAD, Inventor, and Delcam PowerShape, ArtCAM) and familier with some finite element based analysys softwares such as Moldflow, ANSYS, SAP, CAESAR II, etc.

INTRODUCTION:
Production continuity is a keyword in any process of production activities, in which power system play important role to keep all of the operation.
Compressor is known for its capability to store energy in the form of air pressure. In industrial application, compressors are completed with auxiliaries to control the air flow, pressure, and actuators. Compressors will become advantage if it’s operated and maintained properly. Compressors principles and their system performance however should be understood by operator and any person who get involved with them to increase performance of the operation, maintenance, safety, etc.

TRAINING OUTCOME:
In this training, compressors will be discussed from its principle, application, components and its maintenance. Moreover, their control system to improve performance and safety will also be introduced. After completion of this training participant will understand about the basic principle, application and control system that will help them for improving safety and problem solving on operation and maintenance activities.

TRAINING MATERIAL OUTLINE:
1.    FUNDAMENTALS:
a.    Explain the theory of air/gas compression.
b.    Describe how altitude and moisture affects the compression of air.
c.    Describe the principles of operation of positive displacement and dynamic compressors.
d.    Define air compression terminology such as absolute and gauge pressures, compressor
e.    Displacement and compressor capacity, free air, volumetric efficiency, single and double acting, single and multistage.
f.    Given relative data, perform basic calculations to solve for compressor displacement and compressor volumetric efficiency.

2.    RECIPROCATING COMPRESSORS:  
a.    State and describe the different types of single and multi-stage reciprocating compressors, state the function of the various compressor parts, including valves.
b.    Describe the methods employed to cool air or gas during compression.
c.    List and describe the different types of prime movers used for compressors.

3.    ROTARY COMPRESSORS:  
Describe the principles of operation, their application, volume and pressure capabilities, methods of regulation, advantages and disadvantages of the following types of (positive displacement) rotary compressors:
a.    sliding vane
b.    the lobe type
c.    roots type
d.    screw
e.    liquid-sealed

4.    CENTRIFUGAL AND AXIAL COMPRESSORS:  
a.    Describe the design and operation of the volute and diffuser type centrifugal compressors.
b.    Describe the design and operation of the single-stage double-flow and the four-stage centrifugal compressors.

5.    COMPRESSOR SYSTEM AUXILIARIES:  
a.    Describe the design and operation of intercoolers and aftercoolers; state their location within the system, describe the maintenance requirements of these components.
b.    State the need for air receivers, their preferred location, and the inspection and maintenance requirements as per Code.
c.    Describe the use of air filters, list and provide a description of the different types commonly used.

6.    OPERATION, CONTROL AND MAINTENANCE:

d.    State the various operational checks done by an operator on both the compressor(s) and the compressed air/gas system to ensure safe and efficient operation.
e.    State the preventive maintenance requirements of compressors, auxiliaries, piping and receivers.
f.    State the probable causes of compressed air/gas compressor, receiver or pipeline explosions.

7.    ACT, REGULATIONS AND CODES:  
The candidate is expected to be able to locate information relating to the staffing, operation, maintenance, inspection, and testing of the compressor plant and its equipments.

8.    SAFETY:  
The candidate is expected to be able to fully explain the dangers associated with the operation of a compressor plant and all its components, and state the precautions to be taken to minimize or prevent such dangers.

The degree to which compressors are maintained today ranges from “wait until destruction” to a “complete” but extravagant program. This seminar presents maintenance strategies that are economical and yet assure required compressor availability. Participants review the fundamentals of compressors and the techniques for maintaining them. Participants examine proper methods of parts repair techniques as well as diagnostic tests for identifying and determining problems. Participants will study in depth preventive maintenance programs including the purpose of such programs and their planning and implementation. The seminar will introduce new concepts and approaches through actual case studies, which will enable you to successfully implement new ideas.

Paryana Puspaputra was born in Kotabumi on January 19, 1964, is a Lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Industrial Technology, Indonesia Islamic University – Indonesia. Undergraduate from Department of Mechanical Engineering, Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia (ITB) in 1990 and master degree in Mechanical Engineering Department of Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan in 1996. He achieved his doctorate degree in Department of Mechanical Engineering, Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia (ITB) in 2012. He is also experienced as consultant and training instructure for several manufacturing and oil company, such as Chevron, Total, KPA, Petrokimia, Semen, Indonesia Power, etc. His background in mechanical equipment and machinery is completed with knowledge in instrumentation technology which was started from his final project in undergraduate by making software and data acquisition for predictive maintenance, and continued with his graduate thesis in control system for nano technology. There are researches and industrial implementation in data acquisition such as building the DNC system for production-shop using CNC machine, developing the balancing machine for Panasia Indosyntex – Bandung, SCADA system Development based on Fuji Electric control system (for IPAL – Pertamina – Cilacap, Toxic Gas Monitoring – Dieng – Central Java, etc). Moreover, he is also an official trainer of softwares for design and manufacturing base on CAD/CAM Technology (AutoCAD, Inventor, and Delcam PowerShape, ArtCAM) and familier with some finite element based analysys softwares such as Moldflow, ANSYS, SAP, CAESAR II, etc.

PENDAHULUAN:
Getaran pada peralatan mekanik merupakan fenomena alam. Fenomena tersebut menjadi menarik pada saat diketahui bahwa setiap komponen mekanik memiliki karakteristik yang unik, sehingga antara satu komponen dengan yang lain berbeda. Perkembangan kebutuhan yang menuntut kegiatan produksi tanpa henti membawa pada tuntutan keterdugaan kegiatan perawatan mesin. Kondisi mesin diharapkan selalu terpantau tanpa terjadinya ganggiuan pada proses produksinya, sehingga berkembang teknik pemantauan kondisi mesin dengan memanfaatkan keunikan sifat-sifat getaran setiap komponen mesin tersebut.
Pelatihan ini akan menjelaskan sifat-sifat dasar pada peralatan mekanik sehingga memiliki karakteristik getaran yang unik. Penjelasan berbasis pada fenomena alami diharapkan dapat memberikan kemudahan dalam memahami rumusan matematik yang biasa muncul pada analisis enjinering.

INSTRUKTUR TRAINING :
Dr. Ir. Farida Idealistina Muchtadi,MT.
adalah seorang associate professor di Institut Teknologi Bandung, ITB. Beliau mengajar di jurusan teknik fisika (TF) ITB, dan juga mengajar di program magister(S2) di program instrumentasi dan kontrol(PINK) ITB. Ibu Dr. Farida I Muchtadi sudah berpengalaman dalam memberikan pelatihan/training kepada perusahaan-perusahaan di Indonesia. Di Kampus ITB, Beliau mengajar untuk beberapa mata kuliah seperti design of experiments(DOE), metode dan sistem pengukuran, sistem instrumentasi, instrumentasi medik, laboratorium teknik fisika serta tugas khusus. Dengan perjalanan waktu yang panjang sebagai dosen dan pengalaman yang baik Ibu Dr. Farida I Muchtadi siap membagikan dan mendiskusikan ilmu dan pengalamannya di kelas-kelas training Beliau.
